Focus

The focus of Developmental Psychotherapy is always the future, as opposed to ordinary psychotherapy that focuses instead on the past. Of course, the past will come up…that is normal. But it is a falacy and a mistake to focus on it. You cannot avoid pot holes in the road if you are always looking in the rear-view mirror.

Our approach works for individuals and couples who want to improve their relationships, as well as those who feel seriously stuck. By having a clear sense of direction, a new context, and new tools, the brain is able to create new neuro-pathways. This is the only way automatic behaviors, your sense of being stuck, can be transformed into conscious behaviors and healthier choices. What follows is gaining a sense of control over important aspects of your life and creating more loving relationships. Results are joy, inner peace, and productivity and creativity.

Deutsch believes that only about 10%-15% of the population is mentally ill. The rest are frustrated, not having the proper tools to navigate everyday life, especially relationships. At Developmental Psychotherapy we have incorporated an eclectic blend of developmental and various therapeutic orientations into out theory about “Love Being an Essential Nourishment like Air, Food, and Water.” We’ve included a little Positive psychology, Gestalt psychotherapy, Imago couples counseling and dialogue, Neuro-linguistic communication, as well as mind-body-spirit and client-centered philosophies.

We guide our clients to establish meaningful goals in a direct, proactive manner. We have the ability to facilitate real movement by encouraging and supporting clients in a gentle, but firm manner to consider stretching beyond their comfort levels. Powerful developmental tools and structure are provided within the safe boundaries of the therapeutic and coaching relationship.

Since we developed the first, state-of-the-art, preventive mental health app, that clients take home and use for 5 minutes a day, makes their progress much, much faster.

Available on both Apple and Google as The Love Decoded App – Public.

IOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/love-decoded-public/id6677038851

You can start with Steps 1-7, or Steps 1-14, or download the whole app Steps 1-21, and change your life, the life our your friends and family, and for sure it will support the progress of you clients/pateints.

We also call it – “You Are Born To Be Loved.” And people love it. We BETA tested it with students from 56 universities, psychotherapists, and the general public.

The approach generally brings quick, visible results. This creates hope and raises the client’s level of commitment to work toward his or her goals. It is this unusually high level of commitment on the part of the client that ensures their success.

We are a MOVEMENT and we are taking this pioneering psychotherapeutic theory, the App, and other tools, global.

Here is what some couples said about the work……..

I would recommend it to couples or even single individuals because relationships are important and this theory and its tools are really a very, very useful .

I learned how I can change my behaviour in a positive way. Change the little things I do to become a more loving person, more caring and a better wife especially.

Our therapists’ patients and our Apps users both learn to respect, appreciate, understand, accept, have patience, be honest, encouraging, and be compassionate with themselves and others, without accepting anything less from people in their lives. They learn to say, “Not acceptable.” in a loving way. It Works! It teaches them to become more appreciative, understanding, accepting, patient, encouraging, and  compassionate with their spouses, children, family, friends and colleagues. When teaching psychotherapy, schools do not touch on love, so most therapists don’t know how to teach their clients how to love self or ask for love in ways that will have others respond positively.
