The focus at Developmental Psychotherapy is your future, not your past. This is why the approach works so well for individuals and couples who are doing well, not only those who feel stuck. By having a clear sense of direction the brain is able to create new neuro-pathways. This is the only way automatic behavior, your sense of being stuck, can be transformed into conscious behavior and healthier choices. What follows is gaining a sense of control over important aspects of your life and creating more loving relationships. Results are joy, inner peace, and productivity and creativity.

At Developmental Psychotherapy we incorporate an eclectic blend of developmental and varied therapeutic orientations. Included are positive psychology, Gestalt psychotherapy, Imago couples counseling and dialogue, as well as mind-body-spirit and client-centered philosophies.

We guide our clients to establish meaningful goals in a direct, proactive manner. We have the ability to facilitate real movement by encouraging and supporting his clients in a gentle, but firm manner to consider stretching beyond their comfort levels. Powerful developmental tools and structure are provided within the safe boundaries of the therapeutic and coaching relationship.

The approach generally brings quick, visible results. This creates hope and raises the client's level of commitment to work toward his or her goals. It is this unusually high level of commitment on the part of the client ensuring their success.

The practice serves - Huntington, Meville, Dix Hills, Plainview, Woodbury, Syosset, Jericho, Cold Spring Harbor, Bethpage, Farmingdale, Deer Park, as well as Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Clients live all 5 boroughs, New Jersey and Connecticut as well as Europe and Asia, where video conference calls are used to facilitate sessions.
